Day 28 - 31: Miklosvar, Romania

After the 3.5hour flight to Bucharest and then a 3hour transfer, Rowen and I finally arrived just in time at Miklosvar for dinner!!!

We stayed at the Count estate set in the countryside an hour north west of Brasov! Lucky, I had my torch because there was no electricity on the first night and we later found out that of the 100 houses in the village, only 7 had running water!

This was our cottage!

Where the main mode of transport was horse and cart!

This was hilarious site! In between our entrée and main dish every night, the cows would come home! It was amazing as each cow would know where to go and would wait patiently at their gate until the owner would let them back in.

The roosters home!

We would awake to the rooster's wake up call every morning before setting off on our excursions! These included a nature hike (where I was bitten 36 times by Mosquitoes even after reap lying tropical strength insect repellent!) a visit to Bran Castle and Rasnov and St Anne's lake.

This is Rasnov ...

Bran Castle

St Anne's lake

Mohos Peat Bog

The national park where I got ALL my mosquito bites!
